We stock all of your needs for stringed instruments. Sales, Repairs and Major Restorations of Violins, Violas, Cellos, Basses, Bows and String Instrument Accessories are our specialties. Also appraisals may be given upon request. All instruments are set-up properly to achieve the best tonal quality, all work is artistically executed in the finest traditional manner. For nearly forty years our experience has helped our customers find the proper instrument and bow so they may achieve all of their musical goals.
Fegley's strict set-up allows the instruments that pass through the shop to perform at their top level. Our high standards in fitting sound posts and bridges allows our customers' instruments to respond accurately to their personal preference. Most proper set-ups include bridges, sound posts, strings and a bow re-hair.
At Fegley's Violin Shop we are able to quickly fix minor damages to instruments which may include small cracks, open seams and any other small imperfections. We will be able to fix small repairs in a timely manner allowing your instrument to be ready for your next audition or performance.
For older and heavily damaged instruments in unthinkable condition we are able to restore and bring them back to life. Past restorations include major crack repair, new pegs, peg bushings, missing edges and corners, new fingerboards, varnish retouch, new bass bar, button patch and sound post patch.
In an age where machines are commonplace Fegley's Violin Shop uses the knowledge and experience of Joseph P. McDevitt, a Master Luthier who hand makes his instruments from start to finish staying true to the ways of the old masters.
Our rent to buy program is month to month, where we rent superior quality instruments at an affordable monthly fee, 80% of which goes toward the purchase price. This is a 2 year term where the purchase balance is required at the end of the 24th month.
